IS THE DUO SAFE TO WEAR IN CAR SEATS?
Yes. The jacket is designed to be safely worn by toddlers in their car seats, with none of the puffy fabric between the child's body and the harness. To learn more about how to safely wear the Duo in a car seat, and to watch a step-by-step video demo, check out our Car Seat Safety page.
The Duo has been crash tested by an independent crash lab with a sled test that determined the car seat's safety results were not impeded by wearing the jacket.
WHY SHOULDN'T CHILDREN WEAR PUFFY JACKETS IN THEIR CAR SEAT?
Puffy jackets can leave too much slack in the harness of a car seat and prevent a snug fit. That's why the Tempo Outerwear Duo jacket has a dual layer that allows the puffier exterior to open before snugly fastening the harness over top of the thinner inner layer.
Jacket collars create additional obstruction and slack when fastening the harness. The Duo jacket has no collar so that you can quickly, easily, and safely receive the harness over your little one's shoulder to keep them snug and secure.
No more taking your child's jacket on and off each time they get into the car. Now there's a jacket that is warm enough to play in the snow, and safe enough to wear in the car.
WHY USE SYNTHETIC INSULATION INSTEAD OF DOWN?
3M Thinsulate™ Synthetic insulation was selected for the Duo jacket because it provides exceptional warmth (without bulk) and dries quicker when wet compared to down filling. We want children to be able to comfortably enjoy playing in the snow wearing their Duo, without a damp jacket getting in the way. This also makes laundering the jacket easier for parents. Synthetic insulation has the added bonus of being kinder to animals than down.
WILL MY CHILD BE WARM WEARING THE DUO IN THE WINTER?
Yes! As a Canadian company, we understand just how cold Winters can be, and making a properly warm jacket was a high priority. Wearing both layers of the Duo combined will keep your little one warm playing outside in cold Winter conditions. At a glance, it is deceivingly lightweight and thin, though our careful material selection and design will keep your little one warm to -25 C. The exterior insulation was carefully selected to be high-performing, quick-drying, and warm, without adding bulk. And the fleece lining on the inner layer traps heat against the child's body, making the Duo very warm, while remaining lightweight and comfortable to wear.
WHAT SIZE JACKET SHOULD I BUY?
The Duo jacket is generously sized. The sleeves on the interior layer of the jacket are intentionally long - designed to be worn at knuckle length, allowing plenty of room for your little one to grow throughout the year, maximizing the lifespan of their car seat safe Duo jacket. For younger children who prefer a shorter sleeve, the inner layer can easily be cuffed.

WHERE DO YOU SHIP?
We currently ship to all of Canada and continental United States.
Shipping within Canada is available for a flat rate fee of $9.00 CAD. Shipping to destinations in the United States is available for a flat rate fee of $18.00 CAD.
WHERE ARE THE PRODUCTS MADE?
The Duo jacket and our snowpants are designed in Canada and manufactured in China through the True Transparent manufacturing program. This program certifies overseas factories to ensure that they meet rigorous standards for safety, transparency, ethical management, and social responsibility. Our mittens and toques are also manufactured overseas. Our neck warmer is designed and manufactured in Canada.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT DOESN'T FIT?
For Canadian customers: Brand new, unworn products with original tags attached can be exchanged or returned for a refund within 30 days from the date the order was placed, unless otherwise indicated. Returns are subject to a $10 restocking fee. Just fill in the Return Form and we'll send you a shipping label.
For American customers: Brand new, unworn products with original tags attached can be exchanged within 30 days from the date the order was placed. The cost of shipping your original product back to our office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada is not covered. Just fill in the Return Form and we'll get in touch to help you facilitate your exchange.
